Our Mission
At Scruggs Karate Studio, we want to assist parents in helping their children reach their potential. Every child has greatness in them, but unfortunately some children never obtain their gifts, because they were never taught the tools needed to achieve them. Scruggs Karate’s goal is to install habits that will help children become successful throughout their lives. The Scruggs Karate curriculum instills discipline, self-esteem, self-confidence, and teaches goal attainment skills.

At Scruggs Karate Studio, every student reaches his or her peak potential. The students must conduct themselves and be positive leaders among their peers. Most Martial Arts schools just give students belts, but at Scruggs Karate Studio every student must earn every belt. We are a school that produces results.
MEET SENSEI
SENSEI BAKARI SCRUGGS SR.
Mr. Bakari Scruggs started karate under his father Max Scruggs at the age 3. Later receiving his 1st Degree Black Belt in 1999. Currently holding the rank of 3rd degree Black Belt. Sensei Scruggs also competed on the Regional and National Karate circuit, later joining a National Karate Team. He is very passionate about martial arts, because it was life changing for Mr. Scruggs, therefore he’s focused on assisting parents in efforts to help their child reach their full potential.
